
Wynn Named A-10 Defensive Player of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- With more exciting news coming out of the Atlantic 10 Conference's office, junior Madeline Wynn has been named the league's Defensive Player of the Week, the A-10 announced Monday afternoon.
Wynn, a 6-2 middle blocker, averaged 1.71 blocks per set in a 2-0 weekend for the Wildcats, en route to her fifth career conference honor. Leading the 'Cats to two wins over George Mason and George Washington, Wynn had 19 kills on 34 attempts with just one error. Defensively, the Savannah, Ga. native had 12 blocks and helped the Wildcats close out their best regular season since 2013 (14-12) and best season in the Atlantic 10 in program history (10-6).
Wynn and the Wildcats will return to their historic season on Friday at 2:30 p.m. to take on Duquesne University in Pittsburgh in the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals.
