Volleyball Tops Mason 3-1 For Third Straight Win

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The Davidson volleyball team won its third straight Atlantic 10 match and completed the season sweep of George Mason with a 3-1 road win over the Patriots Friday night.
The Wildcats (13-12) are now a program-best 9-6 in the A-10 with one regular season match to play.
Malia Kay led the Wildcats with 15 kills, while Hattie Rodgriguez added 11. Madeline Wynn had 10 kills and a team-best seven blocks.
The Wildcats hit .340 for the match, including .615 in a 25-11 win in the third set.
Jessie Doyal (28) and Xuan Nguyen (26) combined for 54 assists, and Bella Brady had a team-high 16 digs.
The Patriots took the opening set Friday, 25-19, but the Wildcats evened the match with a 25-16 win in the second. After a dominant third, Davidson wrapped up the win with a 25-20 victory in the fourth.
