'Cats Host St. Bonaventure Sunday Afternoon
10/7/2021 3:10:00 PM | Women's Soccer
The Davidson women's soccer team returns to action Sunday when it hosts St. Bonaventure at Alumni Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m., and it's the second of three straight home games.
The Wildcats (4-7-2) are coming off a 0-0 tie with Duquesne last Sunday afternoon.
"We're looking forward to another opportunity at home against St. Bonaventure," said coach Adam Denton. "We're looking to continue to build on the positive things of the past few games. We're pleased with the resiliency of the team during a difficult period and looking forward to the second half of the conference schedule."
DEFENSE STEPPING UP
The Davidson defense is allowing just 0.92 goals per game this year, good enough for third in the A-10. Only two teams — Georgia State and Saint Joseph's — have scored two goals against the Wildcats.
In the past seven outings, the Wildcats have surrendered five goals in nearly 686 minutes.
SCOUTING THE BONNIES
St. Bonaventure enters Sunday 4-6-3 overall and 2-3 in the A-10.
The Bonnies are coming off a 1-0 win over Saint Joseph's on Oct. 3. The difference in the match was a first-half penalty kick by Cristina Torres.
Torres leads the A-10 with seven goals and is tied for the league lead with 14 points.
GIRL SCOUT DAY
Sunday is Girl Scout Day at Alumni Stadium.
The Wildcats will host a post-game clinic and autograph session.
