Wildcats Fall at Fordham

BRONX, N.Y. – Davidson opened its three-game road swing with a 5-1 setback at Fordham in Atlantic 10 men's soccer action on a rainy Wednesday evening at Jack Coffey Field.
The loss drops the Wildcats to 6-4-1 overall and 1-2-1 in league play, while the Rams improve to 4-7-1 and 2-2-0.
Fordham, which captured the conference title in the spring and was tabbed preseason favorites in 2021, carried a 1-0 lead into the break with a 20th minute score from Matt Sloan.
The Rams tacked on four more scores over a 23-minute stretch in the second half to put the game out of reach.
Davidson's lone goal came from Connor Smith with four seconds to play.

The Wildcats will continue A-10 play Saturday afternoon with a 1 p.m. kickoff at La Salle.
