Wildcats Tied for Lead; Round 2 Suspended Due to Darkness

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Paced by Alex Heffner's 6-under 66 in the afternoon, Davidson was tied for the lead when the second-round of the 2021 Grandover Collegiate was halted due to darkness.
Play will resume Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. with the third and final round beginning shortly after.
The Wildcats (285-282 = 567), who were one of 11 teams to complete all 36 holes Saturday, is currently in a three-way tie for the top spot on the 15-team leaderboard with Wofford and Toledo at 9-under par.
After opening with a 71, Heffner (-7) recorded seven birdies on his second 18 to climb into fourth place, five strokes off the pace.
UNCG's Nick Lyerly, who entered 45th in GolfStat's latest national rankings, leads the 101-competitor field at 12-under with one hole to play Sunday morning, before beginning the final round.
Will Davis (T-13), Clayton Tribus (T-19) and Cole Walter (T-21) also sit inside the Top-25 for the Wildcats.
