
Davis, Decker Net A-10 Weekly Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Coming off a 3-1 win at Saint Louis Saturday, the Davidson volleyball team has earned its eighth and ninth Atlantic 10 weekly honors of the season, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Anela Davis is A-10 Player of the Week, while Isabel Decker has been named A-10 Co-Rookie of the Week.
The honor is the first of Davis' career. She was a force at the net in the win over Saint Louis, which was the program's first over the Billikens since 2017. The junior recorded 11 kills on 22 swings (.500 attacking percentage) and provided the 'Cats a total of 17.5 points. With a match-high eight blocks, Davis provided seven block assists and one solo block, while averaging 2.00 per set to shut down the Billikens.
Decker, also the A-10 Rookie of the Week on Sept. 7, had the match-high 15 kills in Saturday's win over the Billikens. The rookie hit .344 overall and was a perfect 16-16 on serve receive, while also serving two aces against SLU. She averaged 3.75 kills per set.
Along with Davis and Decker's recognition, Wildcat Bella Brady has earned five A-10 weekly defensive honors, and Hattie Rodriguez was A-10 Player of the Week on Aug. 30.
Now 5-3 in A-10 play, the Wildcats will play their next three at home, starting with a 7 p.m. contest against Duquesne on Friday.
