Davidson Performs at UNCG Invite

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Davidson men's tennis team wrapped up its third fall tournament this past weekend, taking part in the UNCG Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
Over the weekend, the 'Cats battled Elon, UNC Asheville and host Greensboro on the singles courts. During Saturday's matches sophomore Maxwell Kachkarov won two straight from No. 1, defeating Elon's top player in a three-set battle and later took down Asheville's No. 1 in a 6-4, 7-5 result.
Davidson's freshmen trio of Udday Singh, Nico Pinzon and Luca Lovrich all had solid singles outings as well. Against Elon, Singh and Pinzon picked up victories from courts four and five, respectively, as Singh downed the Phoenix in a 7-6 (4), 6-3 match while Pinzon picked up a three-set win after taking the third frame in a 1-0 (11) tiebreaker. Singh went on to earn a victory against Asheville as well, in another 7-6 (4), 6-3 fashion while Lovrich battled to a two-set, 7-6 (11), 7-5 (9) victory. On Sunday, the trio were the lone Wildcats to earn singles victories too, earning wins from courts three, four and five.
The Wildcats will be back in action this weekend to perform at the ITA Regionals from Winston-Salem.
