10/13/2021 12:25:00 PM | Women's Soccer
As the Davidson women's soccer team completes a three-game homestand Thursday night, the Wildcats will also promote a cause that transcends sports.
The Wildcats will host George Mason at Alumni Stadium in a 'Cats Care Game to promote diversity, equality and inclusion. Davidson will wear special arm bands in the 7 p.m. contest.
"Equality is something that Davidson and our team is very passionate about," said Davidson coach Adam Denton. "We hope we can continue to have our women's soccer program and the game of soccer help bring awareness to racial injustice."
DCWS Unity Statement
Davidson Women's Soccer believes unity is an essential aspect of our team's identity. We promote and value diversity within our program, and we are committed to fostering an inclusive culture both on and off the field. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from diverse perspectives and grow, as we embrace our ability to enact change as a team. We strive to fight racial injustice every day by actively practicing inclusion in our daily lives. We will not tolerate discrimination in any form. We believe through supporting and abiding by antiracist policies and expressing antiracist ideas, we can exemplify our dedication to unity.
