DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Brianna Finch has joined the Davidson women's basketball staff as the Director of Player Development, head coach Gayle Fulks announced Tuesday.
Finch joins the Wildcats' staff with nearly two decades of experience at the collegiate and professional levels, including recent stints at Florida International University and Barry University. She will be responsible for all video operations with the women's basketball program, including the breakdown of practice and game film, in addition to assisting with analytics, scouting reports and on-campus recruiting operations.
"I am very excited for Brianna to be joining our staff," said Fulks. "We have had the chance to get to know each other over the past few years and I have always been impressed with her knowledge of the game, her positive personality, and her tireless work ethic. In addition, she has a wealth of experience from many different backgrounds that will be very valuable as we strive for an A-10 championship."
As a former student-athlete, Finch competed for the University of Portland and Sonoma State University, before beginning her coaching career in 2002 at Santa Rosa Junior College. She coached professionally with Lemvig Basketball Club in Denmark, leading the team to a 19-10 overall record and a semifinal playoff appearance, and was recently selected as one of 30 participants to attend the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's 2019 NEXT UP Program. Heavily involved within the college coaching circuit, Finch was also named the keynote speaker at the 2019 Basketball Manitoba Coaches Super Conference, and was a presenter at the 2012 and 2015 WBCA conventions at the Final Four.
"Davidson is an outstanding college, truly combining the best of academic and athletic excellence," Finch said. "I am very excited and thankful to Coach Fulks for this opportunity. I have the utmost respect for the program and culture she has created at Davidson, and look forward to joining the staff in helping reach our championship goals. Go Wildcats!"
A native of Sacramento, Calif., Finch received her Master's Degree in Human Performance and Sport from New Mexico Highlands University in 2018, co-authored the book Championship Basketball Plays and has been published in Basketball Sense Magazine.
