Garewal and Naime Finish Top-10 at Triad Amateur

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Rising juniors Viraj Garewal and Dean Naime of the Davidson golf team recorded Top-10 finishes at the 2020 Triad Amateur Golf Classic over the weekend.
The two-day event was played on Willow Creek Course at High Point Country Club.
Garewal, the 2019 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, came home tied for second with a 36-hole total of 140. He opened with a three-under 69 before concluding with a 71 to finish six strokes behind Austin Duncan.
Like Garewal, Naime was selected Rookie of the Year in 2019, but prior to transferring to Davidson (Patriot League, while at Colgate). Naime finished two back of his teammate in a tie for 6th Sunday, following rounds of 70 and 72, respectively.
Both Garewal and Naime finished the 2019-20 season with stroke averages just over 75.0.
Despite its season being cut short due to COVID-19, Davidson posted four Top-5 finishes, including a pair of runner ups in 2019-20.
