NORFOLK, Va.  —
Six players scored multiple goals and Davidson earned its biggest win of the season by rolling to a 22-9 decision on the road against Old Dominion Wednesday afternoon in women's lacrosse at the LR Hill Complex.

The Wildcats moved to 2-3 on the season, while sending ODU to 3-4.

Anna West led the offensive attack with a season-high five goals, while Sam Rippley and Shannon Blee each tallied hat tricks.

Freshman Grace Fahey had another strong game, scoring twice and dishing out three assists for five points to give her a team-high 13 points. Fellow freshman Erin Cooke and Gianna New scored two goals each and combined for three assists. Shayne Antolini and Olivia Carey recorded three points apiece on a goal and two assists.

Davidson led from begin to end, racing out to a 7-1 lead in the first half on its way to a 13-3 advantage at halftime and never looked back.

Seven different 'Cats scored in the first 13 minutes, including two goals from West as they built the six-goal lead.

ODU would close the gap to four, 7-3, before West went on a scoring spree by netting three straight goals and Rippley capped off the first half with back-to-back scores at 2:40 and 14 seconds on the clock.

The second half saw Davidson lead by as many as 12 goals in cruising to the win.

The Monarchs were paced by Glory Johnson, who scored four goals and assisted on two others for six points.

The Wildcats won the battle in shots (36-23), groundballs (16-11) and draw controls (16-15), while going 4-of-5 on free-position shots.

New hauled in a season-high eight draw controls, while Blee added five on the day. Natalie Junior and Delaney Guhman tied for team-high honors with four groundballs each, and Margaret Warner forced a pair of turnovers.

Guhman played just over 52 minutes to earn the win and stopped eight shots, while Katy Morris and Amanda Monahan finished out the win by allowing just one goal combined in the final 7:58 of the game.
