
Men's T&F Wrap up the Camel City Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Davidson men's track and field finished up at the Camel City Invitational hosted at JDL Fast Track Saturday.
Freshman Dylan Ameres posted his best triple jump of the year, stretching the tape 13.99-meters (45'10.75), the fourth best mark of the day. Junior Langston Stephens placed 11th with a mark of 13.32m (43'8.5).
Junior Iain Anderson set a new personal best in the 1,000-meters, stopping the clock at 2:34.05, good for ninth overall.
In the sprints, junior Miles Hollimon posted a 60-meter dash time of 7.12 seconds, just ahead of freshman Nick Tompkins in 7.13 seconds.
On Friday's opening day, freshman Miles Kominsky was the first collegiate runner to cross the line in the 600-meter run, third overall, stopping the clock in 1:24.17. Classmate Ben Gordon Sniffen took fifth, crossing the line in 1:24.82.
Junior Daniel Alvarez placed among the top eight overall in the 800-meters, winning his heat with a time of 1:54.74.
Wildcat Jordan Benson won his section of the 60-meter hurdles, earning a spot in the finals. The freshman went on to finish eighth with a new personal best time of 8.27 seconds. Benson also raised the bar in the high jump, clearing a new personal best height of 1.95-meters (6'4.75). Philip Maclemore matched his best height, clearing 1.85m.
Classmate Nick Tompkins ran well in the 200-meters, stopping the clock in 22.95 seconds, 11th of the 60 finishers.
Davidson returns to JDL tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 8 for the final day of the Camel City Invitational. The first event is slated to start at 10 a.m.
