With 5,367 tickets distributed for last Saturday's season-opener against Georgetown, Richardson Stadium was packed for the first time in recent memory! Thank you to Stephen Smith '66 and all those that came and rocked the stands and saw the 'cats down the Hoyas!
LAST TIME OUT
Davidson survived a second half Georgetown rally to win 27-20 last Saturday in front of a capacity crowd at Richardson Stadium. The 'Cats managed 355 rushing yards powered by William Wicks' 88 on the ground. Junior running back Wesley Dugger opened the Wildcats 2019 scoring account with the team's first touchdown to cap the first drive of the season. Davidson scored on all three drives of the first half including a pair of Jorell Story scoring scampers to take a 20-0 halftime edge. After allowing the Hoyas to tie the game at 20, Wicks scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth to secure the victory. Junior defensive end Harrison Hill led the defensive effort with 7 tackles, 1.5 for loss, and a sack.
