Host Wildcats Set to Open Campaign with 2019 River Run Collegiate

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Under the direction of two-time Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year Tim Straub, the Davidson golf team will open its campaign as hosts of the 2019 River Run Collegiate Sept. 23-24.
The two-day/54-hole event will be played on the Par 72, 7,317-yard River Run Country Club layout. Following 36 holes on Monday, which is scheduled for a 9 a.m. shotgun start, Tuesday's final round will begin at 7:55 a.m. off the 1st and 10th hole.
In addition to the Wildcats, the 15-team field will include: Charlotte, Cleveland State, Francis Marion, Furman, Gardner Webb, James Madison, Marshall, Mercer, Presbyterian, Radford, Richmond, Temple, William & Mary and Wright State.
A year ago, Davidson recorded a pair of team titles, eight Top-5 finishes and a school-record 288.09 stroke average.
The Wildcats return three starters from last year's club, including all-conference performer Alex Ross, and 2019 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year Viraj Garewal.
In addition, Davidson welcomes the addition of three newcomers, including 2019 Patriot League Freshman of the Year and Colgate transfer Dean Naime.
