Wynn Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Davidson freshman volleyball player Madeline Wynn has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
A middle blocker from Savannah, Ga., Wynn helped the Wildcats go 3-0 and win the Davidson Invitational over the weekend.
"We knew that Madeline would eventually be an impact player at this level," said Davidson coach Chris Willis. "We just weren't sure how soon. She's worked hard to catch up to the speed of the game and improve her ability to score. I'm excited for her to receive this recognition."
Wynn registered 20 kills at a .667 percentage as the Wildcats defeated Presbyterian, N.C. Central and UNC Wilmington by 3-0 margins. She had a season-high nine kills against Presbyterian and landed four of her five attacks against UNCW.
Wynn finished the weekend with 11 blocks, including five against Presbyterian and UNCW, and she had two aces against N.C. Central.
