Peeples Posts Strong Showing at VCU Final Qualifier

RICHMOND, Va. – Davidson sophomore Nick Peeples became the third Wildcat sprinter ever to break 11 seconds in the 100-meter dash as men's track and field competed at the VCU Final Qualifier Sunday at Sports Backer Stadium.
Peeples placed fifth in the finals of the 100m, leaning across the line in 10.88 seconds to move to second on the program's all-time list behind classmate Miles Hollimon (10.80 seconds). He recorded a preliminary section time of 11.00 seconds. The Marietta, Ga., native narrowly missed his personal best in the 200-meter dash, stopping the clock in 22.30 seconds - his PR is 22.26 seconds set at the 2018 Coastal Carolina Invitational.
Daniel Alvarez wrapped up a strong sophomore season with a win in the 800-meter, while senior Jacob Hostetler took third in the 400-meter run.
The meet wraps up the 2018-19 campaign for the men's track and field squad.
