Lang and Garewal Grab A-10 Weekly Golf Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Fresh off setting a new program record for career Top-5 finishes, Jack Lang of the Davidson men's golf team has been named Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office Friday afternoon.
In addition to Lang earning his second weekly honor of the 2018-19 campaign, freshman Viraj Garewal was also tabbed A-10 Rookie-of-the-Week.
A senior from Lexington, Mass., Lang concluded the 2019 Irish Creek Collegiate third out of 96 competitors with a 54-hole total of 207 (-6).
After matching his personal best with a five-under 66 in round two, Lang carded a 69 Sunday for his 12th career Top-5 showing, breaking the previous school standard held by three-time NCAA qualifier Richard Fountain.
Garewal, who leads A-10 freshmen with a 72.80 stroke average, concluded the annual event at two-over 215 (70-71-74), highlighted by a hole-in-one in the opening round.
