Swimmer Crossan Cooper has been named to the Atlantic 10 Conference All-Academic Team, for the second straight year, the conference announced Wednesday.
An economics major, Cooper is accomplished both in the classroom and the pool.
The junior from Scottsboro, Ark., joined Thacher Scannell, Brian Hynes and Walter Dauksher on the Wildcats' 800-yard freestyle relay team that set a school record and placed second at the A-10 championships with a time of 6:32.13.
A versatile swimmer, he also climbed to second on the program's all-time list in the 400 individual medley with a time of 3:55.02 that earned him fourth at the A-10 meet. He placed sixth in the A-10 in the 500 free with a time of 4:28.13 to move into fifth on the program list. Cooper joined Kevin Andrews, Alex Strasser and Scannell on the 400 medley relay team that finished sixth in the A-10 (3:20.30), and he reached the B finals in the 200 breaststroke.
Cooper was the A-10 Performer of the Week in November after winning the 500 free and 200 individual medley against Old Dominion.
