CHARLOTTE, N.C. –The Davidson men's track and field team wrapped up the 49er Classic Saturday hosted by Charlotte.
Sophomore Daniel Alvarez posted a quick 800-meter run, stopping the clock in 1:54.18, fourth overall, but the third collegian to cross the line. Classmate Nick Peeples ran the 200-meter dash, posting a time of 22.88 seconds.
James Davis cleared 4.25-meters (13'11.25) in the pole vault to place sixth on the day.
On Friday's opening day, freshman Cory Gaither took fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.66 seconds.
Senior Sean Caveney competed in the 110-meter hurdles, stopping the clock in 15.15 seconds, while freshmen Colin Ross ran the 5k in 15:21.33 and classmate George Lewis stopped the clock in 15:21.59.
Davidson returns to the track Friday, Mar. 22 on the opening day of the Winthrop Invitational.
