Women's T&F Opens Weekend Slate at JDL Team Challenge

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. –The Davidson women's track and field team opened a busy weekend of action at the JDL College Team Challenge Thursday night at JDL Fast Track.

Wildcat freshman Meghan Corso raced down the stretch in fourth of the 60-meter hurdles, stopping the clock in 9.29 seconds. The Wayne, N.J., native came within .07 seconds of her shared school record of 9.22 seconds.

Sophomore Makayla Binter and freshman Hazel Tankard both cleared 1.50-meters (4'11) in the high jump to finish in sixth.Â

Davidson freshman Beatrice Levy placed second in the 3k with a time if 11:10.64, while classmate Marquia Humphries set a new personal best time of 26.69 seconds. Another rookieÂ
Sophia Ackerman took seventh in the 400-meter dash, stopping the clock in 1:01.03.

The Wildcats went 6-7-8 in the mile, led by freshman Anna Kathryn Kilby (5:41.14). Emma Pettit (5:45.07) and Garnet Brown (5:47.36) filled in behind Kilby.

Davidson returns to the track tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 8 at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston.
