Davidson welcomes nationally ranked No. 17 Pittsburgh Saturday, Feb. 9 and Appalachian State Tuesday, Feb. 12 for a pair of duals at John M. Belk Arena. Both duals are slated to start at 7 p.m.

ABOUT DAVIDSON
Wildcat freshman Kyle Gorant has started to heat up late in his first collegiate season. The 133-pounder enters Saturday with three straight wins and had his hand raised in four of the last six bouts. Gorant's 12 wins ranks him tied for the team lead with classmate Mitchell Trigg. Junior Conor Fenn has stayed consistent at 184 pounds, coming in at 11-11 with five pins.

ABOUT THE SERIES - PITT
Saturday's dual marks the seventh meeting all-time between the two programs. Pitt has won all six matchups dating back to the first meeting on Nov. 22, 2009. 

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Pittsburgh enters Saturday's dual ranked No. 17 by InterMat. In all, four Panthers are ranked individually including #5 Micky Phillippi at 133 pounds. Also ranked - #11 Taleb Rahmani (157), #13 Nino Bonaccorsi (184) and #14 Demetrius Thomas (285). Phillippi is 13-2 overall and 9-1 in duals in his freshman season.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
On Tuesday, Appalachian State visits Davidson for a Southern Conference dual. The Mountaineers (5-6, 3-1 SoCon) feature 19th ranked Randall Diabe at 197 pounds. Diabe and 149 pounder Matt Zovistoski pace the team with 20 wins apiece, while 11 grapplers in total have achieved double digit victories this season. Despite the losing record, App State has grappled against some of the best programs in the nation including ACC powers, No. 7 N.C. State, No. 15 North Carolina, Oklahoma of the Big XII and No. 15 Rutgers.
