Tankard Earns Spot on A-10 All-Rookie Team

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. –Women's track and field freshman Hazel Tankard earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 Indoor All-Rookie team, announced by the league Thursday.
Tankard earned a spot on the team with her eighth-place finish in the pentathlon at the A-10 Indoor Championship Saturday at George Mason Field House. The Exmore, Va., native registered 3265 points, up 251 from her pent debut at the Queens Combined Event Meet at JDL on Feb. 13.
The A-10 All-Rookie team comprises of the top freshman finisher in each individual event throughout the regular season and concludes at the conference championship.
Tankard and the rest of the Wildcats open the outdoor season Friday, Mar. 15 on the opening day of the 49er Classic hosted by Charlotte.
