Davidson Golf Receives GCAA 2019 Mark Laesch Award

The Davidson golf team has received the 2019 Mark Laesch Award for Division I programs, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Wednesday.
Teams were recognized based on improvement in adjusted stroke average per round from the 2017-18 to 2018-19 seasons.
"I am very proud that our golf team was honored with the Mark Laesch award," said two-time A-10 Coach of the Year Tim Staub. "This award shows the commitment and improvement our entire team has shown the last two years."
A year ago, the Wildcats put together one of their most successful seasons in program history recording a pair of wins, eight Top-5 finishes and school-record 288.09 stroke average.
Davidson's stroke average improved 10.56 swings per round from its 2017-18 team, which captured the program's first conference tournament crown in 50 years.
