DAVIDSON, N.C. – Justin Stone of the Davidson men's soccer team has been named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team as announced by the conference office Thursday afternoon.
"Justin had a very strong first year, and his impact increased significantly as the season went on," said head coach Mike Babst. "He is a selfless worker who showed this fall that he has the ability to change games at any moment."
A freshman from Cary, N.C., Stone tied for team lead with five goals, while finishing second with 12 total points. Despite playing just 54 minutes per contest, he also led the club in shot percentage, shots on goal and shots on-goal percentage.
Just the third (Matt Reinikka – 2014, Henry Howell - 2018) Wildcat selected to the league's all-rookie squad, Stone recorded a pair of two-goal performances in games against Furman and Duquesne to earn rookie-of-the-week honors on separate occasions.
Davidson won two of its last three regular season contests to advance to A-10 Tournament play for the third time since joining the conference in 2014.
