‘Cats Fire Season-Low in Afternoon; Sit 5th at AutoTrader Collegiate

DULUTH, Ga. – Highlighted by a season-low six-under 282 in Monday's afternoon round, Davidson sits in fifth place after day one of the 2019 Autotrader Collegiate Classic hosted by Georgia State.
After carding a 295 (+7) in their morning round, the Wildcats responded with three sub-par scores, including a 68 (-4) and 69 (-3) from sophomores Clayton Tribus (T-21) and Viraj Garewal (T-13), respectively.
Alex Ross (T19 | E), who was tabbed A-10 Golfer of the Week earlier in the day, continued his impressive play with rounds of 73 and 71.
Sophomore transfer Dean Naime (71-75) sits just outside the Top-25 at 3-over through 36 holes.
Brian Garrett (T30 | +3), who is competing as an individual for the Wildcats, opened with a 71 before turning in a 76 on his second 18.
Lipscomb and James Madison sit atop the 13-team field at 15-under, while the Bison's Nolan Ray (-10) leads the way individually.
