Fenn takes fourth at F&M Open

LANCASTER, Pa. – Davidson junior Conor Fenn advanced to the 184-pound championship semifinals Saturday at the David H. Lehman F&M Open.
Fenn advanced early with a first-round bye and dispatched his first two opponents to advance to the semis. The Cumming, Ga., native gutted out an 8-6 decision over Cliffton Wang of Harvard and blanked Nick Fierro of Sacred Heart for a major. Fenn was downed by Kevin Parker of Princeton and competed for third place, ultimately falling to Victor Marcelli of Virginia, and placing fourth on the day.
Aidan Conroy went 2-1 in the 149-pound championship bracket, opening the day with a decision over his opponent from George Mason and a major over Christian Dailey of host Franklin and Marshall. Conroy fell in the third round to Matt Grippi of nationally ranked N.C. State. The Ardsley, N.Y., native finished the day 3-2, picking up another win in the consolation bracket.
Freshman Lachlan Rosato saw his hand raised at 197 pounds. The rookie pinned Matt Savarese of Sacred Heart in the second period. Classmate Mitchell Trigg earned a decision in the heavyweight consolation bracket, while Noah Satterfield picked up a dominant technical fall, 16-0, at 174 pounds.
Davidson returns to action Friday, Jan. 11 at home against Brown for a non-conference dual with the Brown Bears. First bout from Belk is slated for 3 p.m.
