Davidson associate head coach Brian Rosen has been named head volleyball coach at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., the Sharks announced Friday afternoon.
A Florida native, Rosen spent two seasons coaching the Wildcats after sustained success in the high school and club ranks in Charlotte.
"Over the past two seasons, Brian has been an enormous asset for the advancement of the Davidson volleyball program," said head coach Chris Willis. "He tirelessly recruited players across the country and yielded some the best scholar-athletes I've seen in my time here. I appreciate his efforts for the team and his friendship off the court. We wish him the very best and look forward to following his success in the future."
A 2008 graduate of the University of South Carolina, Rosen now takes the reins of a Division II program that competes in the Sunshine State Conference.
"I cannot thank the people at Davidson enough," said Rosen. "From the moment I stepped on campus, this college felt like home. I've learned so much about what a true student-athlete looks like, and have always been blown away by the students in our program. I would like to thank Chris Willis for developing me as a coach and giving me so many opportunities to grow. I would not have this opportunity to be a head coach at Nova Southeastern University if it weren't for him. Most importantly, I would like to thank him and the Willis family for the friendships that I know will continue long after we move. I am so grateful to forever be a member of the Davidson volleyball family."
Prior to arriving at Davidson, Rosen coached one year at Providence High, where he led the Panthers to a 27-3 record, a sweep of the So. Meck 8 Conference regular season and tournament titles and three 4A state playoff wins. In six years at Charlotte Country Day, he compiled a 169-66 record, while leading the Bucs to back-to-back conference and state titles.
He also spent nine seasons as club director and national team coach at Carolina Juniors Volleyball Club, where he led his last six consecutive teams to USAV National Championship bids.
Rosen and his wife Angelica have a daughter, Bryce, and will relocate to Florida later this month.
