
Summer Off the Court: Alana Davidson's Summer Research Internship

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Several Davidson women's basketball players are spending their summer this year advancing their academics. Rising sophomore Alana Davidson is one of those Wildcats. Below is what Alana and the research she is doing this summer on campus.
Alana's synopsis:
"In Dr. Wessner's microbiology lab I'm working with collected bacterial samples from Davidson students to study antibiotic and bacteriophage resistance. We are looking to improve the understanding of community-acquired resistance, more specifically acquired resistance on a college campus."
On the court, Davidson, a forward from New Hope, Pa., enters her sophomore year having played in 14 games in her first year with the 'Cats last year.
