ST. LOUIS – Despite taking their sixth straight Atlantic 10 series, Davidson baseball fell to league-leading Saint Louis Sunday 11-3.
The 'Cats drop to 30-16, 14-7 while Saint Louis improves to 30-17, 15-3.
Davidson was held to just five hits on the day, including homers from sophomore Brett Centracchio and senior Cam Johnson, and doubles from veterans Alec Acosta and Andrew Born.
SLU scored two runs apiece in each of the first five innings, then added their final run in the eighth.
The 'Cats got on the board in the fourth, after Acosta recorded the first hit of the day for Davidson then came home on a single that dropped into center from Centracchio. He then added a run in the sixth on his solo shot, and Johnson blasted his in the seventh.
Sophomore Jaret LaCagnina delivered a strong performance out of the pen, allowing just one hit in three scoreless frames, where he struck out three.
Daivdson wraps up its midweek schedule this week, traveling to Durham, N.C., Tuesday to face NC Central before returning to Wilson Field to host Presbyterian Wednesday.
