DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Davidson baseball wraps up its short home stand Wednesday, welcoming Charleston Southern for a midweek showdown at 6:00 p.m. at Wilson Field.
It will be Dollar Dog Day, as fans can purchase hot dogs for $1 from the concession stand, sponsored by Davidson Volleyball and Field Hockey.

SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
Charleston Southern enters Wednesday with a 13-29 record, most recently dropping two-of-three from league foe Radford over the weekend. The Buccaneers are hitting .227 collectively, but have totaled 10 triples this season. Senior catcher Mike Sconzo is the lone hitter above .300 at .318, and also tops the squad with a .416 slugging. Sophomore outfielder Derek Horton carries the power, boasting a team-best five homers.
The CSU pitching staff has allowed just 118 walks this season and tallied nearly 400 strikeouts, but post a 5.13 ERA.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES
Davidson is 7-4 all-time against the Buccaneers. The two teams have not faced since 1992.
LAST WEEKEND AT WILSON FIELD
Davidson won its fifth straight A-10 series last weekend, taking two-of three from VCU, including a thrilling walk-off winner in the opening contest Friday. The 'Cats entered the bottom of the ninth down by three, and scored the tying and gamewinning run on a two-out muffed throw from the Rams third baseman. Davidson strung together three seperate comebacks Sunday to take the rubber match, being aided by a grand slam from Eric Jones and another long ball from classmate Justin Lebek.
A RECORD ON THE HORIZON
Junior Eric Jones is on pace to break the single-season RBI record, currently with 56 and needing just seven more. The record, first set in 1985 and then tied in 1993, is set at 61. He ranks sixth in the nation in the statistic, and has led briefly for a portion of the season.Jones is also a threat for the A-10 Triple Crown, ranking in the Top Five of the league in batting average, home runs, and RBI.
