DAVIDSON, N.C. – Led by the defending Individual Champion Jack Lang, Davidson will begin play in the 2018 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship Friday in Orlando, Florida.
The three-day/54-hole event will be played on the Par 72, 7,024-yard Villas of Grand Cypress layout April 27-29.
After finishing fifth and earning A-10 Rookie of the Year in 2016, Lang captured last year's individual medalist with a 206 (70-68-68).
Just the seventh conference champion in school history, Lang continues to lead the Wildcats with a 73.60 stroke average. In addition to six career Top-5 finishes, the junior has posted nine rounds of par or better in 2017-18.
Alex Ross (75.26 stroke average), Michael Freeman (76.65), Mike Blasey (77.05) and Hoke Carlton (77.33) will join Lang in Davidson's lineup this weekend.
Since joining the Atlantic 10 in 2014, the Wildcats have posted a pair of Top-5 showings in the conference championship, including a third-place finish in 2015. A year ago, Davidson carded a final round 286 (-2) to come home fifth.
Richmond (-24) claimed last year's team title by 13 strokes over cross-town rival VCU (-11).
Davidson will be paired with George Mason in the opening round with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m.
