
Cassidy Gould to Join Women’s Basketball in 2018-19

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Head coach Gayle Coats Fulks announced today the addition of Cassidy Gould to her 2018 women's basketball recruiting class.
The incoming freshman next year, who hails from Melbourne, Australia, will join fellow recruits Chloe Welch and Sarah Konstans next Fall. For details on Welch and Konstans click here.
"We are very excited to add Cassidy to our previous announcements of Chloe and Sarah. This class brings us a great deal of versatility and competitiveness as we look to continue to build this program," said Coats Fulks. "Cassidy marks the second international, and first Australian during our tenure here. We are hopeful that Davidson women's basketball proves to be an attractive environment for high level international athletic and academic talent."

High School: Methodist Ladies College
Athletic Honors: Played her junior basketball for the Altona Gators Basketball Club … represented Victoria Metro at Australian Junior Basketball Championships in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 winning two bronze medals and two gold medals … team captain in 2017 … represented Australia at the U17 Oceania Championships Guam (Gold), averaging 9.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game … selected to take part in the NBA's Basketball Without Borders Camp in 2017 and selected as a Team Global All Star … was awarded Rising Star and All Star 5 recognition in the BIGV youth league competition in 2016 … Melbourne Boomers Development Player in the WNBL 2016-17 & 2017-18 … MLC Sportswomen of the Year and Sports achiever of the year 2017 … will represent Diamond Valley Eagles in the upcoming South East Australian Basketball League season.

Her time as a developmental player with the Melbourne Boomers in the WNBL, and her national and international level opportunities have provided her a great deal of high performance experience that should translate well to the college game. On the court, Cassidy is a versatile player that has the promise to play multiple positions for us. She can score in a variety of ways, is a terrific passer of the ball, and a tenacious and physical defender."
