Peters Tabbed A-10 Field Performer of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Sophomore Carly Peters of Davidson women's track and field was named the Atlantic 10 Field Performer of the Week, announced by the league Tuesday.
Peters won the javelin throw at the Wake Forest Outdoor Opener Saturday, marking a toss of 43.59-meters (143'0). The Eagleville, Pa., native has competed three times this season including launching an A-10 best throw of 44.08m (144'7) at the Charlotte 49er Classic. The mark is Peters' second best mark all-time and furthest since her program record toss at the 2017 49er Classic.
Peters' Athlete of the Week honor is the third for women's track and field between indoor and outdoor this season and the second of her career. Sarah Sears was named the league's Athlete of the Week on two occasions during the 'Cats indoor campaign.
Davidson returns to the track Friday, Mar. 30 on the opening day of the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State University.
