Second Week In a Row, Khrapko Wins A-10 Weekly Honor

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — For the second week in a row, senior Artem Khrapko claimed the Atlantic 10 men's tennis weekly award by winning the player of the week as announced by the league office for matches played from March 12-19.
Khrapko took home his third player of the week award this year and fifth career weekly honor overall. The senior has claimed all three of Davidson's weekly awards this season, previously winning Feb. 28 and March 14.
A senior from Corning, N.Y., Khrapko helped the Wildcats to a win against Navy at home last week by going 2-0 in singles and doubles combined. He pushed his singles win streak to a season-high eight straight after a 6-3, 6-4 triumph at No. 1. He reached the double-digit win mark on the season with a 10-4 record. Khrapko has now reached double figures in wins in singles play during all four seasons and sits at 48 total wins for his career.
In doubles action, Khrapko teamed with Axel Fries at No. 1 doubles to win their fourth straight together by blanking Navy's top team, 6-0. He improved to a team-best 8-4 on the season and is one win away from tying his career best set in 2015.
Davidson returns to Atlantic 10 play when it travels to Washington, D.C., to face George Mason and George Washington, March 24-25.
