Football Lands 47 Student-Athletes on PFL Academic Honor Roll

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – For the second consecutive season, football placed 47 Wildcats on the Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll, announced by the league Monday.
In all, 585 student-athletes were recognized by the PFL from its 11-member institutions. 2017 marked the fifth consecutive year the league eclipsed 550 student-athletes on the honor roll.
Davidson's 47 recipients ranks eighth overall in the league, while Dayton led the league for the third straight year with 71 student-athletes making the cut. Drake (66), Butler (62), Marist (54) and Jacksonville (54) rounded out the top-five programs.
The PFL athletic director and coaches established the honor roll as a way to recognize the league's outstanding student-athletes. The academic honor roll consists of student-athletes who participated in football at member institutions during the fall semester and posted a 3.0 grade point average or higher during the semester while enrolled full-time in accordance with NCAA rules.
