Wrestling Falls in Regular Season Finale at Gardner-Webb, 27-12

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Senior Dustin Runzo won his third straight dual, but wrestling fell in the season finale at Gardner-Webb Friday night, 27-12.
With the loss Davidson falls to 3-10 overall and 1-6 in Southern Conference duals, while with the win Gardner-Webb improves to 3-10 and 3-4 in conference matches.
Runzo improved to 7-15 overall and 2-5 in conference matches with a 6-4 sudden victory decision over Denton Spencer. It marks his third win by decision in-a-row at 141 pounds. Junior Aidan Conroy followed up with a tough 5-4 decision over Joby Armenta at 149-pounds to put Davidson up 12-6 early.
The final four bouts of the nights were determined by decision, but all in favor of the Runnin' Bulldogs.
Davidson returns to the mats Saturday, March 3 at the 2018 Arby's Southern Conference Championship at The Citadel.
