DCSD Finishes Day 1 of A-10 Championships

GENEVA, OHIO – Davidson men's and women's swimming and diving embarked on its fourth Atlantic 10 Championships Wednesday at the SPIRE Institute.
Junior Anabelle Durham, senior Sarah Coats, sophomore Olivia Stanley, and freshman Anna Linzell delivered a tenth place spot in the 200 medley relay (1:43.52), while the group of sophomore Frances Resweber, sophomore Isabella McElrath, senior Elizabeth Weldon, and junior Lauren Crane competed in the 800 free relay that finished eleventh (7:38.80).
The men's quartet of seniors Clay Resweber, Cole Riggan, and Riley League, and sophomore Ian Hentenaar turned in a strong finish in the 800 free relay, placing fifth (6:35.83).
League also competed on the 200 medley relay, swimming the breaststroke portion. Freshman Kevin Andrews began with backstroke, sophomore Alex Strasser swam the butterfly leg, and senior Taylor Willenbring delivered the freestyle split. The fleet combined for seventh place at 1:30.32.
Both of the men's relays were just a second each off the school record times.
Day 2 begins with preliminaries at 10 a.m. Thursday, starting with the 500 freestyle. Fans can watch live and view live results via Championship Central.
