LEWISBURG, PA. – Sarah Helen Shepherd won the 200-yard individual medley Friday evening to highlight Davidson's first day of action at the three-day, eight-team Bucknell Invitational in Kinney Natatorium.
The sophomore from Chapel Hill, who already owns the second-best 200 IM time in program history (2:03.93), swam the event in 2:03.99 to win by 0.13 seconds. She was seeded third after preliminaries. Sarah Helen Shepherd
In all, 18 Wildcat swimmers advanced in 20 events from the morning session into A, B and C finals.
The highlight for the Davidson men came in the 500 freestyle, where Thacher Scannell, Walter Dauksher and Crossan Cooper finished 4-5-6 to earn 75 points. Scannell finished in 4:31.86, followed by Dauksher (4:33.65) and Cooper (4:34.90).
