Hauth Named A-10 Co-Rookie of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Lucas Hauth of the Davidson men's soccer team has been voted Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
"Lucas is one of our talented freshmen," said head coach Matt Spear. "A class that has made a significant impact to the bright start of our season."
A forward from Fleming Island, Fla., Hauth scored a pair of goals, including the eventual game-winner, and added an assist in Davidson's 6-2 win over Saint Joseph's last week.
"The match vs. Saint Joseph's was an important game for each team – so giving Lucas the start underlines our confidence in his ability," Spear commented.
"The two early goals, combined with the assist, were vital moments – goals change games. So Lucas was instrumental in igniting a key win."
Hauth is the second straight Wildcat to receive a weekly award as Henry Howell was honored last week.
Davidson, which is 7-4-1 overall and unbeaten in league play at 3-0-1, travels to Massachusetts for a 3 p.m. contest Wednesday.
