Golf Just Two Off the Lead, Darkness Suspends Round 2

DAYTON, N.C. – Davidson, which held the lead after Monday's opening round, was two strokes behind the tournament host, when the second round of the Dayton Invitational was suspended due darkness.
The two-day / 54-hole event is being played on the Par 71, 7,100-yard NCR Country Club South Course layout.
Play will resume at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning with continuous play into the final 18 holes
The Wildcats (+10), who have recorded a runner-up and two third-place finishes this fall, shot a one-over 285 in round one.
Dayton was +8, one clear of Illinois State (+9) and two ahead of Davidson when the horn sounded.
Alex Ross (-2), who opened with a three-under 68, is tied for second, four behind Oakland's Chris Handy (-6). Ross, the 2018 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, is one of four Wildcats in the Top-20.
Freshman Viraj Garewal (+3|16) is tied for 13th, while Jack Lang (+5|17) and individual competitor Will Simmons (+5|16) are currently tied for 19th.
Hoke Carlton (+6|F) and Clayton Tribus (+8|F) are also in the Davidson starting lineup.
