
Women's XC Returns to USTFCCCA Regional Ranks

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson women's cross country team returned to the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Regional Poll, announced by the organization Monday.
The Wildcats are back in the polls after a two-week hiatus, coming in ranked 11th in the week four installment. Davidson last made the cut in the week one ranks at 14th and were preseason number 11.
The 'Cats returned following a stellar outing at the Louisville Cross Country Classic where they placed seventh as a team. Senior Caroline Yarbrough led the charge, placing 23rd overall and earned All-Invitational honors. Junior Maddie Hunter took 33rd, while senior Sophia Mills had a breakout race.
Atlantic 10 foe Richmond slotted in a ninth in the Southeast Region, two spots ahead of the 'Cats. Dayton (12th – Great Lakes) and Duquesne (12th) and George Washington (14th) in the Mid-Atlantic were also ranked institutions from the A-10.
Davidson returns to the trails Friday, Oct. 12 at the Royals Cross Country Challenge.
