NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Davidson women's cross country senior Sarah Sears was tabbed the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week, announced by the league Tuesday.
Sears set a new personal best for a cross country 5k at the adidas XC Challenge, placing seventh and stopping the clock at 17:23.6 in a very competitive field. The Arlington, Va., native paced the 'Cats to a third place finish and catapulted them into the USTFCCCA Southeast Region Poll in 13th. Sears is the first women's cross country member to earn a conference distinction this season.
Davidson returns to the trails Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Greater Louisville Classic.
