Peters Concludes Record-Setting Year at NCAA East Prelim Round

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Davidson freshman Carly Peters wrapped up an incredible rookie campaign Thursday evening at the NCAA East Preliminary Round at the University of Kentucky Outdoor Track & Field Complex.
The program record holder in the javelin placed 31st overall with a mark of 43.06-meters (143'3). The Eagleville, Pa., native ends her freshman season with the top-seven throws all-time. Her record breaking throw of 45.91-meters (150'7) snapped an 18-year-old record set by Yolanda Kirby in 1999, smashing it by 12.4-meters.
Peters placed third overall at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship and was named the A-10's first Women's Rookie of the Week of the outdoor season.
