Brockett, Wildcats Roll to Win over Bonnies, 13-1

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Senior attacker Annie Brockett scored a season and career-high tying six goals in leading Davidson to a 13-1 Atlantic 10 win at home Sunday against St. Bonaventure in women's lacrosse inside Richardson Stadium.
Brockett finished with seven points to tie a personal best and gave her a team-high 36 overall on the season. She has a career-high 30 goals, pushing her career total to 82 which is just outside the Wildcats' top-10 all-time. The seven points also gave her 100 for her career.
The one goal allowed by the Wildcats (4-7, 2-2 A-10) is the third time in program history they have accomplished the feat. They also did it against Ohio (21-1) in 1999 and Denver (14-1) in 2001.
Davidson put the game away early by scoring four goals in the first 14 minutes on its way to a 7-0 lead at halftime. Brockett picked up three of her goals along with an assist in the first half.
Christine Molinari matched her career high with four assists and added a goal to give her a career-high five points. Shayne Antolini tied her season high with two goals and added an assist, while Kendall Thielemann had a goal and an assist. Also scoring on the afternoon was Jordan Wood, Sophia Sgroi and Shannon Blee, while Sarah Kopp dished out an assist.
The Bonnies (2-9, 0-3 A-10) lone goal came at the 26:18 mark in the second half off the stick of Gabrielle Bradley from Rachel Perla. It made the score 9-1 at the time.
Davidson dominated the box score, winning the battle in shots (35-10), groundballs (26-18), draw controls (11-5) and caused turnovers (11-6). The shots, shots on goal (27), groundballs, assists (8) and points (21) were all team season highs.
Between the pipes, Rose Woolson had a strong game. She finished with six saves, six groundballs and two caused turnovers.
Claudia Becker matched Woolson with two caused turnovers and scooped up two groundballs, tying her season high in both categories. Nicole Pettiglio had a team-high three draw controls, while Brockett and Antolini picked up two each.
The Wildcats take to the road next Thursday, April 13, to face Richmond at 7:30 p.m. in another A-10 game.
