Lang Shoots 68 to Climb Into Contention at A-10 Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. – After opening with a 70, Jack Lang (-6) fired a four-under 68 in the second round and will enter the final day of the 2017 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship just one off the pace.
The three-day/54-hole event is being played on the Par 72, 6,794-yard Grand Cypress Golf Club layout.
Tomorrow's third and final round will begin at 7:30 a.m.
Lang, the 2016 A-10 Rookie of the Year, made the turn in 35 (-1) before carding three birdies on his inward nine to post his 13th round of par or better this season.
Looking to become the first Wildcat to claim individual medalist since Richard Fountain (2011), Lang is currently tied with Richmond's Zack Justice in second place, one back of VCU's Jamie Claire (-7).
Davidson, which is competing in just its third A-10 Championship, finished the day with a 299 and will enter the final day just 12 shots out of the Top-3.
Following an opening round that consisted of eight teams shooting par or better, Richmond (-15) backed its day one total with a 288 (E) to take an eight-stroke advantage over defending-champ VCU (-7).
George Washington (-4) is 11 strokes off the pace in third ahead of Dayton (-3), La Salle (+3), Davidson (+8) and George Mason (+8)
T6th – Davidson (285-299 = 583 | +8)
T2nd – Jack Lang (70-68 = 138 | -6)
T19th – Hoke Carlton (68-77 = 145 | +1)
T25th – Michael Freeman (70-76 = 146 | +2)

The winner of the event will receive the Atlantic 10's automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals.
