Three PR's and an Impressive Debut for Men's T&F at the Charlotte Invite

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Davidson men's track and field team posted three individual personal bests and saw an impressive sprint debut at the Charlotte Invite Saturday at Irwin Belk Track.
The Wildcats saw two PR's fall in the 400-meter run with a pair of top-eight finishes. Freshman George Williams placed third overall, stopping the clock in 48.29 seconds. Fellow rookie Garrett Nickelson won his heat and broke 49 seconds (48.96) for the first time, good for sixth overall.
Sophomore Brady Logan notched an impressive personal best in the shot put, winning his flight and stretching the tape 15.56-meters (51'0.75). His mark placed him eighth overall and was the first time he eclipsed 15-meters on a throw. Logan moves up to second on the programs all-time performer list behind only Will Funderburg - the school record holder.
Freshman Will Wicks debuted on the track Saturday with a pair of impressive sprint performances. The rookie placed eighth overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.14. Earlier in the day, he opened with a heat win in the 100-meters, crossing the line in 11.19 seconds.
Freshman Sean Caveney was just outside scoring in the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles. The Andover, Mass., native placed 10th in the 400 hurdles (54.93 seconds) and 11th in the 110 hurdles (15.24).
Sophomore Will Jones was second overall in the 3,000-meter (9:04.30), while freshman Alex Hazan finished sixth. Freshman James Davis also placed, finishing sixth in the pole vault, clearing 4.35-meters (14'3.25).
