Lang Tied for Lead; Golf off to Solid Start in Spring Opener

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Sophomore Jack Lang (70-72 = 142/-2) is tied for the individual lead after two rounds of the 2017 Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate hosted by Francis Marion University.
The two-day/54-hole event is being played on the 6,913-yard, Par 72 Wexford Plantation layout.
Lang, the 2016 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, turned in a steady 36 holes with five birdies and just three bogeys. The native of Lexington, Mass., will enter the final round tied with Alec Weary (High Point), Vincent Blanchette (Gardner-Webb) and Justin Connelly (Mercer).
After opening its spring with a 301, Davidson carded a 298 in the afternoon and sits tied for eighth, just 11 shots out the lead, currently held by nationally-ranked South Carolina Aiken (298-290 = 588) and Radford (301-287 = 588).

Tomorrow's third and final round will begin with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start.
