DAVIDSON, N.C. — Back-to-back goals by seniors Annie Brockett and Nicole Pettiglio in the final 2:30 erased a one-goal deficit and led Davidson to a thrilling 10-9 win at home against William & Mary Sunday afternoon in women's lacrosse inside Richardson Stadium.
In a game that featured six ties and seven lead changes, the Wildcats (2-1) earned the final tie when Brockett netted an unassisted goal with 2:24 left to even things up at 9-all. Fellow senior Kendall Thielemann sealed the win by pulling in the draw control as the 'Cats ran the clock out.
The senior duo Brockett and Pettiglio combined for eight of the 10 goals, scoring four each with Pettiglio tying her career high. Sarah Kopp and Shannon Blee netted a goal apiece and three players including Thielemann dished out one assists each.
The Tribe (1-3) were paced by Lindsey Jenks and Abby Corkum with three and two goals, respectively, while dishing out an assist each. Four other players had one goal apiece.
