Wrestling Drops a Pair at the Mountaineer Duals

BOONE, N.C. – The Davidson wrestling team competed at the Mountaineer Duals Saturday against Bloomsburg and host Appalachian State Saturday at Varsity Gym.

The Wildcats fell to Bloomsburg in the morning session, 43-0, and returned against App State, falling in a Southern Conference match, 45-0.

Davidson opened the dual against the Huskies with three consecutive losses by way of decision. In a match that started in the 157-pound class, junior Tony Palumbo and sophomores Hunter Costa and Noah Satterfield all fell in a decision to open the day. Senior Dustin Runzo and freshman Will Baldwin ended the match as it started with a pair of tight decision losses.

Runzo and veteran classmates Ryan Devlin and Konner Pritchard battled in decision losses in the SoCon matchup with App State.

Next up for Davidson is a trip to Greensboro College for a dual with the Pride. First match from Royce Reynolds Family Student Life Center is set for 7 p.m.
