BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Day one of the 2017 Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational hosted by West Virginia has been halted due to darkness. The second round will resume Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. with the final 18 holes to immediately follow.
The two-day/54-hole event is being played on the Par 72, 7,308-yard Pete Dye Golf Club layout.
In addition to the Wildcats and host West Virginia, the field includes Akron, Bowling Green, Eastern Kentucky, James Madison, Loyola, Marshall, Ohio, Robert Morris, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Towson, Utah, Winthrop and Youngstown State.
After opening with a 309, Davidson was three-over in the afternoon before play was stopped with one hole remaining.
Rutgers (E) leads the team standings by a shot over Bowling Green (+1), followed by Marshall (+2), which is two back.
George Baylis (-5) holds the top spot on the individual leaderboard, while the West Virginia duo of Etienne Papineau (-4) and Avery Schneider (-4) are one off the pace.
